PART II
Microsoft Publisher directions for
Set-Up assignment from InDesign text 3-22 through 3-29 (second of three
parts--this file will continue until page 3-49 in our InDesign text)
Pg. 3-22
Open up the Set-Up document you saved from page 3-17 (from Part I).
Click VIEW on the menu toolbar and select MASTER PAGE (if you are not already in Master View). In the Master Page task pane, click on the New Master Page button (located at the bottom of the task pane window or click on the button shown highlighted below on the Edit Master Pages toolbar). Then, in the New Master Page dialog box, notice that the Page ID shows "B", then type "Body Copy with Pics" in the description. Click OK.

Then select VIEW, Zoom, and select Whole Page. (Still in Master View.)
Click ARRANGE on the menu toolbar, Layout Guides, and change the INSIDE margin guide to 0.5 and the other margins to 0.375.
While still in the Layout Guides dialog box, click on the Grid Guides tab and change the columns to 5 and the spacing to 0.25. Click OK.
Drag a horizontal ruler guide down to the 1 inch measurement on the vertical ruler.
Using the same method, position three more horizontal guides: one at 2 inches, 6 inches, and 6.225 inches. Remember, to set a guide specifically, you can right-click on the guide and type in the measurement.
Your page should look similar to Figure 31 on page 3-23 of our InDesign textbook.
Save your work.
Now create two text frames on the left page of the B-"Body Copy with Pics" master in the same locations as shown in Figure 32 on page 3-24.
Click the selection tool (arrow) from the objects toolbar and click in the text frame on the right. Right-click and select COPY. Then right-click again and select PASTE.
Use the four-arrow tool on the edge of the copied text frame to move it to the page on the right. Do the same with the first frame on the left page pasting it to the third and fourth columns on the right page (until you have the four text frames as shown on page 3-25).
Save your work.
Click on the A-Chapter Right Page icon at the bottom of the screen. Select the text frame that includes the text "Chapter title must be two lines," and copy it.
Click on the B-Body Copy with Pics icon at the bottom of the screen. Click on the left page icon; click edit and paste.
Position the text frame to the location shown in Figure 34 on page 3-25 of our InDesign textbook.
Then change the alignment of the text in that text frame to align right.
Click the Type tool and draw a new textbox at the bottom of the left page of the B-Body Copy with Pics master, as shown in Figure 35 (page 3-26).
Click inside the newly created textbox and point to INSERT on the menu toolbar and select PAGE NUMBERS. Deselect the "Show page number on the first page" checkbox. Then click OK. You should see the pound sign (#) in the textbox. This symbol will change on the document pages in normal view.
Just after the page number symbol #, click INSERT on the menu toolbar and select SYMBOL. Select the Special Characters tab in the dialog box and click on Em Space and OK. Then type "Title."
Copy this textbox and paste it, placing it on the right side of the two-page spread. Once pasted, click in the text box and change to right alignment. Compare with the figures on pages 3-26 through 3-27.
Go to the left page of the B-Body Copy with Pics master page and close Master View.
Once Master View is closed, be sure that you are on Page 2. Click once on the Oval tool on the objects toolbar. Move your cursor to the center of the page and with the Shift button held, click and drag from the top left to the bottom right to create a circle about 2 inches in diameter. Don't worry about getting the circle exact; we will be adjusting it. By holding shift, you are constraining the shape to be an exact circle.
Select the circle you've just drawn, then right-click the circle and select FORMAT AUTO SHAPE from the drop-down menu.
In the Format Auto Shape dialog box, select the Layout tab and set the horizontal from top left corner to 3.667 and vertical from top left corner to 2.783. Then click the Size tab and select the box to Lock Aspect Ratio, then enter 2 in the height text box, and then click OK.
Go to the right side page in the two page spread (page 3). Press and hold Ctrl and Shift and move the center square in the ruler to the top of the right hand page outside border (not the margin, but the outside page border). Both rulers should now be reset to 0 at the right-hand page rather than measuring the entire two-page spread.
Select the rectangle tool from the object toolbar and draw a basic rectangle in the right page.
Right-click on the rectangle and select FORMAT AUTO SHAPE. Select the size tab and change the height to 2 and the width to 2.5. Select the Layout tab and set the horizontal from top left corner to 5.117 and vertical from top left corner to 3.016.
Click on your Zoom list arrow and select Whole Page to see the entire spread on your screen. Move your rulers back to the upper left corner.
Go back to Master View, click on the A-Chapter Right Page icon at the bottom of the screen. Then draw a rectangle frame in the position shown in Figure 41 on page 3-29 of our InDesign textbook.
Save your file.
Take a break and then return for Part III...
