Page 6-36 Adobe InDesign CS2 Revealed

Microsoft Publisher directions:

The Project Builder 1 assignment on page 6-36 uses Adobe InDesign CS2 and Adobe Illustrator. As an option for this class, you may be using Microsoft Publisher 2003. I've created alternative files for you to use. They are available at the links below.

DIRECTIONS (translated for Publisher)

  1. Download the two files linked above and save them to your computer.

  2. Open Pub6-4.pub and save it as Snowball.pub

  3. Double-click the graphics placeholder in the middle of the page and insert the graphic file Snowball.jpg.

  4. Make sure the graphic file is on top of the column text. (If necessary, send the column text to the back.)

  5. Click text wrapping and select Edit Wrap Points.

  6. Rather than automating this wrapping (as we can do in InDesign), you will need to carefully select wrap points and pull the picture frame around the image. Shown below. This may take some trial and error, but remember than UNDO is your best friend. :-)

7. Once you are finished with a clean wrap, similar to Figure 45 on page 6-36 (It does not have to be exact!), then save your file and transfer it into a PDF format.

8. Submit both the PUB file and your PDF file to the InDesign6-36 assignment in WebTycho.
