"It is important that a bowler cleans their bowl every time the ball is used. What happens is that when the ball is thrown down the lane, the ball picks up oil and dirt which eventually settles into the microscopic grooves and pores that make up the ball's surface. When these grooves fill up in the ball, the ball looses traction on the lanes and does not hook or hit as hard as before. In order for a bowler to get the maximum performance and reaction out of a bowling ball, it is imperative that the ball is kept clean [4] .

There are many products available for cleaning bowling balls [4] . "Reaction Clean N' Dull" draws oil from the pores of the ball as well as removes dirt and grime. This cleaner also restores the bowling ball to an "out-of-the-box" tacky condition.

"Urethane Ball Cleaner" is a non-abrasive cleaner which is formulated to remove lane oil, wax, dirt, etc.

"Spray Master" cleans floor oil, waxes, dust, dirt grease, etc. for all bowling balls. Spray master also shines the ball as it cleans and can be used on bowling bags and shoes.
