We study the different types of weather, clouds, water cycle, and track real weather to collect data. Each student will get a chance to be meterologist for the day and announce the weather for the day on the morning announcements.
Rocks, Sand, and Soil
We study the different types of rocks, and look at soil, sand, and explore earthworms, and the soil they live in. During this unit we ask students to start a rock collection. We study all of the different rocks and test each one to see what kind of rock it is. We also have a worm project, where students get to use their creativity make a work using anything they want.
We study different types of structures and what makes them strong. We test different building materials to see the difference in structure and how much weight each can hold.
