Lesson Thirteen - Review

Overview

The class is drawing to a close.  As in most classes, some have participated more than others, and some of you have probably had a much better time and learned more than others!  I think nearly all of you tried very hard and made it a success.

I have taught before using WebTycho, and it continues to improve as I learn to use its features better and better. The good people who maintain the system continue to find and fix some of the kinks!

I am grateful for the materials that the previous instructor, Dave Dampier, prepared when he transformed this course from a face-to-face product into an online one. Based on previous student comments and suggestions, and my experiences with this class, I’ve made changes each time I’ve taught this course, and with your help, I’ll make more changes in the future.

If this is your first WebTycho course as a student you may have had to battle some WebTycho “funnies”.  I sympathize since I was on a steep learning curve my first time.

The format of the final examination will be essay. You will at least five days to complete and return the examination to me, via WebTycho. It is not necessary for it to be proctored. It is open books, notes, neighbors, etc. You can use almost anything at your disposal, but you must not collaborate with any other current or former student of this course, and, of course, if you paraphrase or quote the work of others, you must properly reference and acknowledge it.  The examination is designed to see if you got a general overview of the software engineering process, and gained anything about the software engineering field as it is taught at UMUC. I will post the examination on prior to 12:01AM EST of the scheduled posting date. You will have until Midnight of the final due date to turn it in. Good luck.

There are no PowerPoint Slides for this Review Lesson

Discussion Questions

Under the Lesson 13 – Review  Conference, post any software engineering questions you have for discussion by your fellow students, and comment by me, prior to the Final Exam.
