| Biography
Dr. Frank Albritton was a recipient of an appointment to the United States
Naval Academy at Annapolis, and attended the United States Military Academy
at West Point. His professional education includes a Bachelor of Science in
Finance and a Master of Arts in Applied Economics. In addition, while living
in Europe for a total of 15 years and teaching economics for the University
of Maryland, European Division, he completed postgraduate study in economics
from the European Programme. In 2007 he completed a program in educational
leadership at the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Albritton is an author, specializing in productivity improvement, the
economics of the health care sector, and the impact of national culture
on leadership.
His publications include a book comparing the health insurance markets of
the United States and Germany, titled Health Insurance Reform in the
United States:
A Market Approach with Applications from the Federal Republic of Germany
(University Press of America, 1993) as well as other publications & presentations on
economics and leadership. In 1998, and again in 2005, he was recognized for
his excellence in teaching by being selected to be included in the "Who's
Who Among America's Teachers". He is also a recognized leader in online
education, receiving an award at The Eleventh International Conference on College
Teaching & Learning for "Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning
and Technology."
Professor Albritton was a lecturer in Europe for the University of Maryland
from 1989-1995 and the director of the Business and Management Program
at Santa Fe Community College in Santa Fe, NM, from 1995-1998. At Seminole
Community
College in Sanford, Florida, he has been an economics Professor and served
as Director of the Avenue to Success Title III Grant. He has worked/consulted
with firms in industries such as retail, health care and manufacturing,
including Daimler-Benz (while working for the Chief Financial Officer,
Dr. Manfred
Gentz,
began the preliminary research which led to the Daimler and Chrysler merger)
and BMW in Germany and Siemens in the U.S.
His professional interests include research on the impact of national culture
on leadership, research on factors that affect productivity, international
travel, consulting, and promotion of international student exchange programs.
During 2004, Professor Albritton conducted research during a sabbatical
at the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart, Germany. He
is a Salzburg
Seminar Fellow having attended "Community Colleges as Sites of Global
Citizenship" in 2005 at the Salzburg Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. He
is fluent in the German language.
Professor Albritton is married with two children and a lab mix named
Lili. Frank enjoys spending time with his family, soccer, and international
travel.
