Learning Object #3: Project Schedule Development

Project Schedule Development

This learning object illustrates how a project consists of individual activities that must be completed to finish the project. The activities are dependent on one another, and each must be completed in a timely manner in order for the project to be completed on schedule.

After viewing this learning object, students will be able to:

  1. Identify individual activities that make up a project.
  2. Evaluate the interdependencies of activities of a project.
  3. Create a project network with proper precedence relationships of the activities.
  4. Determine the earliest and latest start times for activities of a project.
  5. Determine the critical path of a project.
  6. Analyze the effects of delaying any activity on the critical path of a project.
  7. Increase their knowledge of scheduling and resource allocation in projects.

Two versions of this learning object are available: an interactive Macromedia Flash version (enhanced with additional graphics and animations; requires the Macromedia Flash Player) and a non-interactive, accessible HTML version. Both versions contain the same content.

Please view the HTML version if you have technical problems with Flash or if you would like a printable version of the content.
