Electroporation

It is a method used to introduce exogenous DNA into a cell in a process called ‘transformation’ of the cell. Human, other animals, plants, bacterial and yeast cells can be transformed using this technique, which uses high voltage electrical pulses to increase the permeability of cell membranes. This allows for the uptake of exogenous DNA into the cells.
