Using Datamonitor Reports to Find Company Information

Slide 1: Welcome to this Information and Library Services tutorial on using Datamonitor Company Profiles to find company information. This tutorial will take about two minutes to view.

Slide 2: DataMonitor Company Profiles, available within the EBSCO Business Source Complete database, provide information on thousands of companies throughout the world.

Slide 3: Each 20 to 30 page profile includes a company overview, key facts about the company, a business description, a company history, and a list of key employees. Many of the reports also feature a SWOT analysis, revenue analysis, top competitors, locations, and company subsidiaries.

Slide 4: To access Business Source Complete, first go to the library homepage.

Slide 5: Click on Research Databases…

Slide 6: …and then click on “B” under the A-Z list of databases.

Slide 7: Now simply click on the Business Source Complete link.

Slide 8: To access Datamonitor Company Profiles, first hover your mouse over More in the blue banner at the top of the database screen, and then click on Company Profiles.

Slide 9: The first page in the alphabetically-arranged list of Company Profiles will then appear. To obtain a report for a particular company, simply type in the name of the company in the search box and then click browse. Now click on the Datamonitor Report link to open the report.

Slide 10: You can use the links in the sidebar to navigate to specific areas within the report, such as company overview, key facts, or business description. You can also use these arrows to move forward and backward within the report. If you wish to print the report, click on the print icon. You can print the entire report or selected pages from it. If you wish to save the report to your computer, click this icon. To email a report to yourself, click here.
