Locating a Specific Article
When you're looking for a specific article and you have its citation (that is, information about the article, such as its author, title, journal in which it was published, etc.), you can search for the full text of the article in the UMUC library's databases by following these steps:
- From the library's home page, click on Research Databases

- On the Research Databases page, you can use Journal Finder to determine which database(s) contain full text of the journal that you're looking for.
Enter the name of the journal in the Journal title box and use the drop-down menu to select Title starts with, Title contains, or Exact match.
If you know the publication year for the article that you're looking for, it's a good idea to enter it in the Optional: Year box. Then click on the
button.

- A popup window will show you the name of the database(s) in which the journal can be found. Click on the GO button next to a database name to be taken to the database.

- Once you're in the database, you can search for the article that you need.

If you don't know the journal in which an article was published, you can use a search engine like Google to find a complete citation for the article and then use Journal Finder to get to the full text of the article.
If the popup window says that no electronic full text is available for the journal that you entered, you may request a PDF of the document through the library's DocumentExpress service.
