#1 Ask a Librarian
The library is here to help you and we want you to be successful! Reference assistance is available 24 x 7 via chat and email. Walk-in, phone, and instant messaging assistance is also available during regularly-scheduled hours.
#2 Library Instruction
Instruction request form
One of the resources and services available are library instruction sessions. Just as one class in a subject does not makes someone an expert, the same is true of the research process. Constant reinforcement helps to build these skills and provide a comfort level. At your invitation, using the online request form, a librarian will visit your class, either face-to-face or online, and provide library instruction to help your students gain the research skills necessary to be successful in college and as contributing employees. These sessions are specifically tailored to your class’s needs, and an active learning exercise is recommended to be included to reinforce the learning, with the librarian available to answer questions and provide guidance. Please note that because of the volume of requests received and the time needed to tailor the instruction content, we ask that requests be submitted no later than two weeks before the scheduled session. Instruction is also available to students at any time via Peck Virtual Library Classroom (VLIB 101), a free class available in WebTycho, that explains how to use the library’s resources and services.

#4 Electronic Reserves
Use e-reserves to post reserved readings in your online class. The readings will be available to only your class. Submit a request, and our e-reserves team will take care of all the details of obtaining the readings and make them available in your WebTycho classroom within a few weeks. Please note that due to copyright restrictions e-reserves can only post 20% of a book. Items that are used in a second semester by the same faculty member must be cleared through the publisher – ILS handles copyright requests and payments, freeing you to focus on your teaching. However, be aware that some requests could be cost-prohibitive or use may be denied by the publisher.
