Creating Alerts in Library Databases |

You can create alerts in several of the library databases, including
all ProQuest and EBSCO databases, Social Sciences Citation Index, and
PAIS. Specific instructions for each database (or vendor) are listed
below.
Creating Alerts in EBSCO databases:
- Click on the Sign In link at the top of the search
screen.
- From the Sign In to My
EBSCOhost Screen, click on the I'm a new user link (or log
in if you already have an account).

- Perform a search.
- Click on the Search History/Alerts
tab.

- Check the add to search box and then click on Save
Searches/Alerts.

- Click the radio button Alert and fill in all pertinent
information.

- You are now ready to receive periodic alerts of new information on
your topic.

Creating Alerts in ProQuest databases:
- Perform a search in a ProQuest database:
- From the results screen,
click on Set Up
Alert.

- Fill in the required information.

- You are now ready to receive periodic alerts of new information on
your topic.

Creating Alerts in Web of Science databases (Science Citation Index
Expanded or Social Sciences Citation Index):
- Perform a search in a Web of Science database.
- From the results screen,
click on Search
History.
- Click the checkbox next to
the search that you want to create the Alert for and click
Save History.
- Either register or sign in.
- Check the Send Me
E-Mail Alerts box and then click on
Save.

- You are now ready to receive periodic alerts of new information on
your topic.
Creating Alerts in PAIS Databases:
- Perform a search in a PAIS database.

- From the results screen,
click on Alerts.
- Either log in or create an account.
- Click on Save as
Alert.
- You are now ready to receive periodic alerts of new information on
your topic.
