Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition
Installation Manual1. Close all other applications before installation of Oracle10g Enterprise Edition. Insert CD. Wait for the installation screen to come up. Click on Install/Deinstall Products.
2. Please wait until next window is completely loaded.
3. Notice: the program will create a home file location. It gives you option to select the installation type. You can select either Enterprise Edition or Personal Edition.
4. Specify Global Database Name which is also called SID. Enter the password and confirm it by retyping it. Click Next.
5. Click install
6. Installation takes about 15 - 20 minutes. When the installation Progress bar reaches 100% (please be patient), then only click Next.
Note: Wait a couple of seconds after 100% installation, then click Next even if the Next button is activated.
7. The next screen is configuration assistant. Wait until configuration is complete.It is done automatically and takes time.
8. Then it copies the files. Please wait while it copies the files and don't disturb.
9. You can change the username and password for sys and system by clicking on the password Management button at the bottom.
Now you have Oracle10g on your machine. You can check - From the Windows Start menu, choose
Programs > Oracle- oraDb10g_home1 > Application Development
Go to Programs > Oracle- oraDb10g_home1 > Application Development>
SQL Plus
Enter the
username - scott
password - tiger
Host String is the name you entered for Global Database name
Test it by creating some tables.
