If your Polaris Password Has ExpiredPolaris Prompts for Changing PasswordIf you use WS-FTP or some other File transfer software and you get incorrect password errors, you Polaris password may have expired. If that is the case, you will need to Telnet to Polaris to change the password. Once you have Telneted into Polaris, follow the prompts below.

If Your Unsure Of Your Polaris Password or Your Password No Longer WorksIf you can not
log into you Polaris account by via Telnet, or you do not remember
your Polaris password, you will have to change your password using
your MyUMUC login and password. If you do not know your MyUMUC login and password, please contact 1-877-868-2847.
After you provide this information, your Polaris account username and a temporary password will be displayed. Make careful note of your login and temporary password displayed on-screen before exiting the system. Reconnect to Polaris and log in using the login and temporary password the system just gave you. The system will then prompt you to change your temporary password to a new password. At the ":" prompt, re-enter the temporary password you were assigned. At the ":" prompt, enter a new password of your choice. Passwords must be between 6 and 8 characters in length, and must contain one non-alphabetic character. At the ":" prompt, retype your new password.
